Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award 2014

1 September 2014

Prof. Damien Murphy has received a Wolfson Research Merit Award from the Royal Society to support a five year project in Pressurised pathways for free radical detection using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy (2014-2019). The award will enable Prof. Murphy to develop and exploit the pressure-jump EPR capabilities to generate the non-equilibrium thermodynamic conditions required to enhance the population of rare and highly reactive transient species, and thereby continue his research in unraveling mechanistic pathways in catalytic chemical transformations.
