The Catalysis CDT will provide a comprehensive four-year doctoral training programme (1 year MRes + 3 year PhD) in catalysis between Bath, Bristol and Cardiff Universities.

The program, will begin with an initial intensive four-month bespoke taught programme that includes lecture and workshop based teaching from world-leading experts, experimentalSymposium 021_shrunk training, together with project work and transferrable skills training.  Research skills will be developed through an eight-month placement in the laboratory of a nominated supervisor, in one of the three universities before moving onto PhD research in Years 2-4.

The CDT has strong industrial support that will enable the delivery of a wide range of enrichment activities such as student conferences, outreach events and commercialization training.

The CDT is Centre will have funding for >70 PhD students, and welcomed its first cohort in September 2014.

Student Led Activities

The CDT in Catalysis is committed to developing world class leading researchers to go out into industry or academia, trained through evolving a network of academic and industrial contacts.

To do this we have a series of events and activities the students have to be proactive in both creating, timetabling and running as part of our Student Led Programme. It is expected that the students will attend as many of these events as possible.  More details of these acitivities can be found here.
